Summer’s nearly over (at least from a holiday perspective) and we’re now busy applying the final touches to this year’s July/August issue.
A big part of our summer is spent thinking about one of the North Sea’s biannual conferences – which this year happens to be Offshore Europe. But we also have the new ONS Norway, so this year’s double issue is doing double duty.
The NCS, the UK and Beyond – “Neighbours Linked by a Common Sea”Oct 15, 2013 In his this third interview with Scandinavian Oil-Gas Magazine, Norway’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Ola Borten Moe, speaks from experience he’s garnered since taking the helm of the Ministry in 2011. It’s been another busy year for the Minister, with meetings around the world – including the US and Mexico as well as Israel and the Middle East – to boost both Norwegian interests abroad as well as international interest in Norway. Although Borten Moe refers specifically to the UK when he says, “a common sea” we get the feeling that his sentiment is global.

He has just left a pivotal meeting with his Norwegian counterparts, so we were the first to learn Lukoil and Rosneft were to receive acreage in Norway’s 22nd Licensing Round, the “Southwest Barents Round”, announced the next day.

Høie hails from and has served Rogaland county – home of Stavanger – as a representative in Parliament. And as if hailing from Norway’s “oil capital” isn’t enough, Høie is the son of an engineer who spent his career working with Ekofisk, the country’s first and longest operating field.
