International energy services company John Wood Group PLC (Wood Group) has formed a strategic alliance with Walker Technical Resources (WTR) to provide asset integrity solutions to the Brazilian market.

Aberdeen-based WTR uses state-of-the-art composite materials to provide pipe repair systems for a variety of industry sectors, including oil & gas and power. The company's core product Technowrap™ has been enhanced to be applied in temperatures that range from -103°F (-75°C) to 428°F (220°C), allowing the technology to be utilized in a variety of geometry and geographic locations. In addition, the composites used are more cost effective than traditional metallic materials.

"We are excited to be working exclusively with WTR to offer their range of products and services to the Brazilian market as part of our asset integrity solutions," said Alexandre Quadrado, country manager for Wood Group Engineering and Production Facilities in Brazil.

Graham Birnie, managing director of Walker Technical Resources said, "Brazil is part of WTR's global development strategy and we are delighted to be working with Wood Group Engineering & Production Facilities as the sole provider of our range of pipeline and pipework composite repair products in Brazil. Wood Group has won a deserved reputation for engineering expertise but they are also one of the world leaders in providing integrity management services encompassing inspection, repair and maintenance. Our range of fully validated American Bureau Shipping (ABS) and Lloyds Register "Type Approval" for Technowrap 2K™ products range, will allow Wood Group Brazil to provide composite repairs for their valued clients."
