Wood Group to provide offshore services to StatoilHydro’s Peregrino project

Peregrino project

Wood Group Engineering & Production Facilities Brasil (Wood Group Brasil) has been selected by StatoilHydro to provide operations, maintenance and modification services for the two Peregrino wellhead platforms. The five-year contract is valued at approximately US$60 million.

Wood Group Brasil's project scope includes both offshore services and onshore support, and covers all production processes and equipment except drilling services. The project will be managed by Wood Group Brasil's existing management team, and more than 50 local workers will be hired for operations, maintenance, engineering and other positions.

"The Peregrino project is StatoilHydro's first in Brasil and Wood Group offered the best contracted solution, based upon a number of factors, including technical expertise, worldwide experience, QHSE excellence and value," stated Alexandre Quadrado, country manager for Wood Group Engineering & Production Facilities in Brasil. "Wood Group has operated in Brasil since 2002, and has developed an experienced local work force supported by the Group's international expertise in operations & maintenance."

Wood Group has supported the Peregrino project throughout its development. Wood Group company, Mustang, provided engineering and procurement services for the two platforms. Wood Group companies have also provided subsea, riser, mooring and pipeline engineering; commissioning services; O&M documentation; and 20 surface pumps that are on the two platforms for water injection. Following the successful completion of the facilities design, Mustang has also been awarded the follow-on engineering for the project during its installation and commissioning phases.
