Wood Group-3

Wood Group Production Facilities (Wood Group), part of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC, and SPT have signed an agreement to market combined services to the floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry, including floating LNG liquefaction & regasification and compressed natural gas (CNG). As a result of the agreement, owners of LNG facilities worldwide have a one-stop source for world-class LNG services ranging from operations and maintenance, marine, and lightering services to full terminal management.

The agreement formalizes a spirit of cooperation shared by Wood Group and SPT for several years, and capitalizes on the experience of each. Wood Group operates offshore floating production facilities worldwide and currently provides operations and maintenance personnel services for LNG facilities in West Africa and South America. SPT operates high-pressure gas terminals and is currently supporting the development and commissioning of an LNG terminal in Kuwait. Together, the companies provide services for the world's first offshore buoy-based LNG importation terminal—the first new LNG terminal in the United States in more than 20 years—located offshore Louisiana.

"The combined services offered by Wood Group and SPT provide floating LNG owners with flexible, world-class services for project development, execution, commissioning and marine terminal operations," explained Derek Blackwood, president of Wood Group's production facilities operations in the Americas and West Africa. "Together, we have the experience necessary to provide a tailored solution to best meet each customer's specific development and operations needs."

"We are extremely pleased to expand our relationship with Wood Group and to be able to provide a broad range of services in a specialized market. This agreement allows both companies to capitalize on the strength and depth of experience each offers," said Simon M. Duncan, president of SPT.
