Windependents chose to move to Rotterdam because of its central location in the Netherlands. Rotterdam and its port are the bases for an uninterrupted energy provision to most of the North-West part of Europe. Rotterdam is a fundamental location for not only traditional energies like coal and natural gas, but also wind and solar energies. Therefore moving to Rotterdam was a logical step for Windependents.
Windependents’ new office is located in the city center. The new workplace offers room to grow and is close to central station. Windependents has moved to the new location together with Offshore Independents, one of its affiliates.
“The main challenge will be to create a modern and sustainable working environment, and at the same time follow the preservation rules of the historical building in which we will be” says Sven Willekes, General Manager at Windependents. The new office is part of a redevelopment project called Tuin van Noord. This project entails redeveloping the old courthouse and prison at the Noordsingel. The building will now be used as offices and residences.
