Wentworth Resources Limited

Wentworth Resources Limited says that Richard (Rick) Schmitt has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective April 1, 2011. Robert McBean will continue to serve the Company as Executive Chairman.

Mr. Schmitt was previously Chief Executive Officer of Afren EAX, the East African subsidiary of Afren plc. Prior to the acquisition of Black Marlin Energy Limited (BMEL) by Afren, Mr. Schmitt was President & CEO and Director of BMEL where he led the company's IPO and subsequent listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Schmitt is a past president of Africa Oil Corp., and former President and General Manager of Occidental Petroleum (Yemen). Mr. Schmitt also holds Directorship in Tyner Resources Limited, Newton Energy Limited (TSXV:NJN) and Canadian Overseas Petroleum.

Bob McBean, Wentworth Executive Chairman, said, "On behalf of myself and the other Directors of Wentworth, I would like to welcome Rick to the Company. He brings over 33 years of experience in upstream oil and gas operations and management with a number of those years spent in our core area of East Africa."
