Recently the Offshore maintenance Support Walk-to-Work vessel Kroonborg was nominated KNVTS Ship of the Year. The award is given to a vessel built in the Netherlands, which distinguishes itself in the field of design, economy, sustainability, safety and construction. Yesterday Royal Niestern Sander presented the unique concept of the Kroonborg to the jury of the KNVTS in her decision on the choice of the final winner.
“Kroonborg is an accommodation vessel, IMO 2 tanker, workboat and supply vessel in one design and hereby one of a kind”, explains Jan Doorduin, Managing Director RNiestern Sanderoyal . “After thorough research and a tight cooperation between shipbuilder, client, end-user and various supplier a concept with many functions was designed, which could change the entire offshore industry. Today we illustrated the jury how Kroonborg enables offshore operations to be more efficient, safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly”, concludes Jan Doorduin.
