Aberdeen based Tendeka, the completions technology provider, has strengthened its team with two key senior appointments.
Gary Smart has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer, with Alan Pearson taking up the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Smart has almost 20 years experience in the international oil and gas industry. He comes to Tendeka having spent the last eleven years with Weatherford International, where he was latterly group vice president of its Well Screen Technologies business. In his role he was responsible for the global integration of business units operating core technology segments of expandable completions, conventional screens and zonal isolation and inflow control. Mr Smart holds an MBA from Henley Management College.
Mr. Pearson joins Tendeka with more than 15 years experience in both corporate and private practice. Most recently he held the position of finance director for Total Waste Management Ltd. Prior to this he was Eastern Hemisphere Controller for Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids. A qualified accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS), Mr. Pearson also holds a BA in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot Watt University.
Mr. Smart said, “Tendeka brings together some of the most advanced completions technologies, providing clients with international expertise while delivering a local service. To be involved in both shaping and influencing the success of the company is an exciting challenge and one I am very much looking forward to."
Mr. Pearson added,“Joining Tendeka is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new and innovative organisation. There is already a strong team in place to take the company forward and I am delighted to have the opportunity to be part of it.”
Having launched earlier this year, Tendeka combines digital monitoring solutions provider Sensornet, swellable elastomers experts, Swellfix and wireless well communication and downhole instrumentation specialists, Well Technology.
Its aim is to provide increased efficiency in well completions and production, through the consolidation of specialist solutions.
Neale Carter chief executive officer of Tendeka said,“I am delighted to welcome Alan and Gary to Tendeka. They both have experience at the highest level in the technology industry and will provide the leadership, enthusiasm and strategic thinking we need to take the company to the next stage in its development.”
