The Norwegian parliament has approved oil company Talisman’s development plan for the Rev gas field at the North Sea meridian line between Norway and the United Kingdom.
Rev could cost 2.7 billion kroner ($443 million) but yield 3.9 billion standard cubic meters of gas and 600 million Scm of light oil.
The parliament, or Storting, has never said no to a field development, and Rev includes a cross-border pipeline to the Armada platform. Production is seen starting in July 2008 and lasting up to seven years.
Talisman’s partner on Block 15/12 is Petoro, which manages the Norwegian taxpayer’s direct interest in offshore oilfields.
