Tullow Oil will not test its most recent appraisal well in the shallow water Tano block offshore Ghana in West Africa after logging results showed tough geology.

The hydrocarbon-bearing Albian sandstone met by well 1N-3X would not readily surrender its wealth: The Shallow Water Tano block contains three undeveloped oil and gas fields. Tullow aims to learn if one or more accumulation can be made commercial.

Farm-in partner Interoil declared Tuesday that future operations in the shallow Tano acreage will keep appraising discoveries and marking prospects in the vicinity of Tullow`s recent Santonian, Mahogany and Hyedua deepwater reservoir discoveries.
