TGS-Nopec on Libyan fly mission

Libya concession map

Norwegian-American survey outfit TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co. has begun an industry-backed magnetic study of Libya from the air with the blessing of National Oil Corp. of Libya.

“All petroliferous basins” will be used to generate data from 250,000 kilometres onshore and offshore.

Several planes and six months of data-crunching will be needed before the results are made known.
