Songa clients put faith in Mercur, Venus

Japanese energy company INPEX has exercised a second six-month option and re-hired the semi-submersible drill rig, Songa Venus, from Norway-based driller Songa Offshore.

Songa stands to earn $225,000 a day until 25 October 2008.

Yesterday, oil company Santos exercised an option an extended by three months a nine-month contract for the Songa Mercur.
