Seajacks

The two offshore construction liftboats of Seajacks International Ltd. have the company about to post a profit, judging by earnings results just released.

Though posting a $3.4 million loss, double as wide as a year ago, Seajacks said it’s new-build liftboats “Kraken” and “Leviathon” had already contracted for $100 million.

A naming ceremony Monday for “Kraken” — destined in May 2009 for ExxonMobil’s Sable project offshore Canada — marks the start seatrials, earnings and the beyond.

“Seajacks continues to see a steady stream of inquiries … and expects interest in the oil and gas sector to increase,” a statement said. The inspection, maintenance and repair for platforms, sub-sea infrastructure and wind turbine installations combines to give Seadjacks a “less volatile” market to earn from.
