Abu Dhabi’s TAQA Energy has given lift-boat operator Seajacks from 30 to 60 more days of work in the southern North Sea, a contract extension worth $8 million.

The well-intervention support work was good news for Seajacks, a company now beginning to show customers the worth of it jack-up lift-boat vessels that take themselves to the work site.

The TAQA order for stimulation of sub-sea gas wells in the Dutch sector starts in November 2009, or right after Seajacks Kraken is back from a job in Canada.

The company has recently won offshore wind turbine installation contracts in the Irish Sea and offshore support work as jack-ups for DONG Energy of Denmark.
