Scorpion Offshore secures Letter of Intent for Offshore Courageous

Norwegian interests in Scorpion Offshore Ltd. have found work for the company’s fourth high-spec, new-build jack-up, the Offshore Vigilant.

The work offshore Venezuela will bring in $74 million over at least 11 months starting in October 2008, a company communique has said.

The Vigilant is under construction at Keppel AmFELS yard in Brownsville, Texas ahead of delivery in August 2008.

Norwegian Seadrill Ltd. recently offered to buy the outstanding shares in Scorpion after denying an offfer from Fortune Private Equity LLC.
