U.K.-based Asia producer Salamander Energy has upped production 175 percent and revenues 265 percent to post a “maiden profit” of $3.2 million, eracing the half-year net loss of a year ago.
With $129.6 million cash on hand and new gas-sales agreements with the big Indonesian islands, the company is appraising five fields and discoveries targeting 50 million barrels of oil equivalent.
“Six to eight high-impact exploration wells” are planned for 2008, according to company chair, Charles Jamieson.
Indonesian and Thai producing wells trebled their production for the company during the half.
