Milan-based offshore construction outfit Saipem has won two new offshore contracts in Egypt and Angola worth a combined $600 million.
In Egypt, Burullus Gas Co. has asked for the sub-sea development of the Sequoia field astride the Rosetta and West Delta Deep Marine Concessions offshore the Nile Delta.
The contract comprises engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning for the partly shallow, partly-deepwater project and includes the laying of a 22-inche gas-export pipeline. Project deadline: year-end 2009.
Meanwhile, in Angola, Total’s gas-export project involves exporting Block 17 volumes to Block 2 for injection intwo two depleted offshore oil reservoirs 230 kilometres northwest of the capital Luanda.
Saipem engineer, procure for, build, move and install a 1,500-tonne injection platform in 38 metres of water.
