Norway’s storied Rosenberg yard has secured a smallish fabrication contract for Seawell Offshore and that company’s work on BP’s Ula platform.
The Bergen Group yard business will build and install a new cement-handling area, complete with lifting equipment, escape hatches and walkways for upwards of 20 million kroner ($4 million).
Rosenberg yard, or Rosebergverft, was once threatened with extinction but, new financing and the Bergen Group’s networking has breathed life into the industrial centre.
The yard has historically been a ship, rig and platform builder and helped forge the Nordic country’s reputation as a shipping and energy nation.
