Norwegian offshore handling specialist ODIM said Friday it’ll deliver 38 million kroner ($5.5 million) helped by orders for STX Norway, the former Aker Yards, which is building for Japanese shipping company K-line.
Odim said included in the orders is an anchor-handling frame that cuts the load on an anchor-handling ship’s winch by over 50 percent when recovering rig anchors over a stern roller.
An ODIM LARS automated launch and recovery system for remotely operated vehicles, or ROVs, is also on order.
With all new-build offshore construction vessels in at least Norway having housings, the company has racked up 56 LARS sales.
