Norwegian deepwater equipment handling outift ODIM “has resolved to establish a facility” in Vung Tau, the Vietnamese “oil capital”, for assembly and testing.
The company’s equipment line includes automated winches for deepwater mooring, kit to handle seismic gear and remotely operated vehiilces, plus anchor-handling solutions described as safer than the industry standard.
The Vung Tau investment is put at NOK 85 million ($15 million) and is seen as granting capacity to grow in the heated-up Asian offshore market.
