Offshore-handling expert ODIM has won a NOK32 million ($5 million) order with Ezra Marine Services of Singapore for the delivery of two 20-tonne active heave compensated ABAS cranes.
The cranes will be ready in the first half of 2009.
The wave-compensating crane lets ROVs and subsea equipment be handled in taller seas, and the extended weather window boosts safety and improves oil company planning.
Ezra Marine is “one of the fastest growing offshore shipping companies in South East Asia”. ”Last autumn`s acquisition of ABAS Cranes (now ODIM ABAS) has given us access to offshore cranes which at a larger extent complements system deliveries from ODIM,” a company statement said.
