Deepsea Delta - Letter of Intent-Spotlight

Norway-based Odfjell Drilling has been contracted by independent Norwegian oil companies Revus Energy and Pertra for the semi-submersible drill rig Deepsea Delta and a day rate of $435,000.

The three-year deal comes with an option to extend for five years at an unspecified lower day rate. Deepsea Delta is under contract with Norsk Hydro until March 2009.

Revus will pay a third, Petra the rest, giving the former rig access for up to three wells per year.

The 1981-model rig has been upgraded and can drill down from atop 450 metres of water.
