Norwegian oil minnow Revus has confirmed the Luno discovery in the Norwegian North Sea is as big as 180 million barrels of oil and the source of excitement that caused its share price to soar over the past week.
Operator Lundin Petroleum owns half the field stake and has been offered a Revus rig for the speedy commercial development of Luno in Block 16/1-8.
The finder of the light oil, Bredford Dolphin, now moves to the Thorkildsen prospect in nearby license PL 341, where Revus owns a third. The DNO-operated Thorkildsen boasts “expected reserves” of 60 MM bbls with the chance of finding them at 40 percent, according to Revus.
