Maersk Giant

Swedish oil company Lundin has been given the green light by Norwegian regulators to drill for 60 days in the North Sea starting 1 October 2007.

The jack-up Maersk Giant will drill exploration well 7/4-2 in which Talisman Energy and Norwegian Energy Co. have stakes.

The unnamed prospect lies 240 kilomtres southwest of coastal Egersund.

The Hitachi-built rig can operate in up to 107 meters of water.
