Gulf of Mexico explorer Leed Petroleum said it has been confirmed as highest bidder on two of the blocks it wanted in the week’s U.S. lease sale.
The Mineral Management Service confirmed Leed was good-to-go at Ship Shoal Block 201 and Main Pass Block 1115.
The MMS must still check the lease geology against the bids’ value, but a wait of no more than four months is expected, a statement said.
The company placed bids of $1.6 million for Ship Shoal Block 201 and $230,000 for Main Pass Block 115.
