Iraq’s rulers have invited companies to bid for the development of the Akkaz gas field near the Syrian border, where some 2.15 trillion cubic feet of reserves are said to be in place.
Tender documents from the Ministry's Oil Projects Company, or SCOP, refer to a detailed engineering and procurement assignment for metering stations, gas turbines, valve stations, water treatment, electrical and fire detection and protection.
The Ministry’s Web site sets April 23 as the deadline.
Similar announcements were made for the Kirkuk oilfield and the Rumaila oilfield from the Ministry’s incomplete Web site.
