Woodside Petroleum discovers gas offshore MyanmarJan 4, 2016Woodside declares that the Shwe Yee Htun-1 exploration well in Block A-6 in the Rakhine Basin, located in the western offshore area of Myanmar, has intersected a gross gas column of approximately 129 m. Approximately 15 m of net gas pay is interpreted within the primary target interval. The well reached the planned original total depth (TD) of 4810 m, referenced from the rig rotary table. Following drilling, wireline logging was conducted and confirmed the presence of a gas column through pressure measurements and gas sampling. The well was subsequently deepened to a final TD of 5306 m.

Shell gets first gas flows from Corrib field in IrelandDec 31, 2015Operator Shell has started gas production from the Corrib field off the northwest coast of Ireland. Statoil holds a 36.5% participating interest in the field. The Corrib gas field is located 83 kilometres off Ireland’s northwest coast in water depths of almost 350 metres. At peak annual production, the field is expected to produce around 260 MM scf/d of gas, which is 45,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).
TAQA taps first oil from Cladhan field in North SeaDec 30, 2015Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) has got first oil from the new Cladhan field development in the UK North Sea. The field is developed as a subsea tie-back to the TAQA-operated Tern Alpha platform. The well is designed to provide structural control and reservoir definition on the field's eastern flank. Fugro awarded survey services for deepwater development at Guyana oil discoveryDec 24, 2015Fugro has been awarded a contract by Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited, an ExxonMobil affiliate, for survey services at a deepwater field development offshore Guyana. The contract provides for autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) geophysical survey and an environmental baseline survey, along with shallow geohazard and geotechnical coring. The discovery of more than 295 feet of high quality, oil-bearing sandstone reservoirs in the Stabroek Block of the Liza Field represents a significant deepwater production find in the Guyana-Suriname basin.
