Oil and gas industry body ICoTA will turn its attention to Light Well Intervention vessels (LWI) and their operational capabilities for its next lunch and learn session, which will be hosted by its European chapter on Tuesday 19th February.

Presented by Iain Morrice of Helix Well Ops UK, it will cover the equipment, packages and technology that is currently being used by vessels who conduct well intervention, as well as looking to what the future may look like for the industry.

Morrice will also share plans for coiled tubing operations from an LWI vessel in the North Sea with case studies of some of the regions biggest assets.

The lunch session will be held at The Marcliffe Hotel in Aberdeen and will run from 11:45 to 1:45pm. It is the first in a series of events being held by ICoTA Europe this year.

ICoTA Europe chairman Callum Munro, said: “This presentation will provide an update on vessel capabilities in the region as we continue to maximise the use of sub-sea well intervention activities to recover valuable barrels from the North Sea”

“ICoTA Europe’s lunch and learn events are well known for providing excellent opportunities for leaders in the field to discuss and share best practices. The industry’s use of light well intervention has dramatically increased in recent years and this will undoubtedly be a hot topic of discussion at this year’s event.

“Our events are fantastic networking opportunities, attracting some of the best minds in the European intervention and coiled tubing industry, and we welcome anyone with an interest in the topic to join us.”
