London-based African energy outfit Gasol has started proceedings to acquire the 80 percent it doesn’t control in African LNG Holdings Ltd., a project company aiming to produce liquefied natural gas on coastal West Africa.
“Completion of this significant transaction will position Gasol to become the premier independent LNG player in the Gulf of Guinea,” company chief exec, Soumo Bose, said in a statement.
The move had stopped the trading of Gasol shares, which have risen steadily since June 2007.
