Elixir commences drilling on Guinea well

Gulf of Mexico oilfield player Elixir Petroleum has reported a producing gas well at the Pompano project off the Texas coast, where eight million new cubic feet per day has flowed since 1 May 2008.

Pompano production is now up to 14.6 MM cfd for operator Buccaneer (65 percent), Elixir (25 percent) and junior partners Baron Petroleum Inc. and Streamline Exploration Inc.

”Historically high” gas prices point to more work to come at Pompano, the partners said in a statement.

Bucaneer and Elixir are understood to own indirect interests in the field via their ownership in a subsidiary.
