Songa Offshore ASA has announced the signing of a $30-million contract with CNOOC's African business for the dirllling of a well offshore Equatorial Guinea.
The contract starts after a current drilling campaign in Libya expected to run to late 2009.
Before starting the mobilization, Songa Saturn will complete a long-planned upgrade for work in 3,800 feet of water. This yard work is likely to be carried out in Malta when the Libya stay runs its course.
The contract sum is undestood to include the cost of getting the rig to its yard and the drill site in West Africa.
