CNOOC adds Bozhong barrels

China National Offshore Oil Corp. Ltd. said it has started the first flows of an eventual 25,000 barrels of oil per day from the Bozhong 28-2S development in Bohai Bay, where the oil company says four other area fields are due onstream in 2009.

Hong Kong on Thursday trumpeted Bozhong’s first 4,000 bpd, saying the field’s lesser components — BZ29-4, BZ28-2SN and BZ34-1N — will flow in short order. Production is set to ramp up an by 2011.

A central platform, 49 wells and one floating production and storage vessel make up the development. BZ28-2S was discovered in 2006.
