Faroe commences drilling on East Breagh prospect

Partners in the Breagh field in the United Kingdom’s southern North Sea have tested their horizontal well at rates up to 26 million standard cubic feet and now point to development of the gas field.

Operator Sterling Resources Ltd. (45 percent) announced the good flow test Thursday, saying well 42/13-5z was tested for three days at different rates and still looks like a producer. Sterling is joined at Breagh by partners EnCore Oil (15 percent), Faroe Petroleum (10 percent) and Stratic Energy (10 percent).

"These encouraging results give the group momentum to move the Breagh field on to the next phase of its development,” a statement said.
