BP begins Mango production Offshore Trindad

Wood Group business J P Kenny Engineering has signed an agreement to be UK-based supermajor BP’s global “preferred supplier”, starting with the Shaw Deniz project in Azerbeijan.

J.P Kenny will offer engineering and project management services for BP's offshore development projects. No money amounts were disclosed.

It’s the second deal BP has struck with a Wood Group business in December 2007, and the oil company has recently announced a slew of big-item, long-lead-time contracts with major suppliers, including offshore accommodations provider Prosafe.

After declaring more money for the “frontline” and less for the “back office”, new BP managers’ first moves were to bolster its Russia venture TNK-BP’s procurement with billion-dollar investments in oilfield services and tubing.
