Forest announces sale of Alaska assets for approximately $464 million-Spotlight

Supermajor BP has settled a tax dispute in Alaska by agreeing to pay $379 million for income tax dating back to 2000-2002, the Financial Times has reported.

The deal was apparently announced shortly after it was struck on New Year’s Eve.

The company, meanwhile, is still under investigation in Alaska for an oil spill at Prudhoe Bay in 2007.
