Norwegian offshore pump specialist Bjoerge is in receipt of a letter of intent with BP in Norway for the delivery of fire-fighting systems for the Skarv-Idun field development off northwest Norway.

Water deluge systems, foam dispersal for the heli-deck, hydrants and hose spools are included in the deal.

The $60-million agreement, if confirmed, is a breakthrough for the Oslo-based supplier, which has successfully made fire-protection engineering a new business area.

Partners in the Skarv development will send gas into the Aasgaard Transport pipeline and the Kaarstoe terminal process terminal
