Calgary-based Bankers Petroleum has pointed to Albania as the source of much of its 54-percent growth in proved and probable reserves to 156.6 million barrels oil equivalent.
An outside reserves audit by RPS Energy suggests Bankers' Albanian assets could be 96.7 MMboe bigger. The Patos Marinza oilfield is said to contain “1.96 MMboe of recognized oil in place, or a little smaller than ENI’s offshore Goliat field in arctic Norway.
Bankers’ “three-year plan” is expected to add more development activity when announced “shortly”.
Management said no reserves are included for the recent Kucova field acquisition announced in February 2008.
