Flexible riser contracts awarded-Spotlight

Norway-based engineering contractor Aker Kvaerner says the deepwater Chinese market looks set to expand, just as it readies the ingredients of its first-ever shipment to China National Offshore Oil Corp.

“Up until now most of the oil exploration in China has been in shallow waters, however CNOOC is now taking their efforts to a new level,” Aker Kvaerner vice president, Raymond Carlsen said in a statement.

New Aker Kvaerner workshops in Malaysia will roll out a 7,500-foot riser system in Q2 2010, while Aker Kvaerner Pusnes preparies mooring kit for a semi-submersible rig deal announced at an earlier date.

Meanwhile, the company’s own supply chain were cued to call +47 67 82 68 18 and ask for Harald Grieg Riisnaes for information about sourcing.
