David Ward - Johnston Carmichael
David Ward and Richard Britten, tax directors at Johnston Carmichael, are set to explain what the changes to the UK budget mean for the oil and gas sector at a Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen section event this month.
The presentation, entitled ‘2015 UK tax incentives for the UKCS – how can you benefit and what do you need to be aware of?’ is part of SPE Aberdeen’s Simplified Series promoting interdisciplinary industry knowledge-sharing from experienced individuals in their respective fields.
Mr Ward will provide an overview of the recent changes to the fiscal regime for the oil and gas sector, before explaining tax considerations and incentives available for oil and gas exploration in the UK. Mr Britten, who joined Johnston Carmichael as a tax director in March, will provide an overview of topical employment intermediary issues for the industry.
Mr Ward commented: “During my career, I have had a particularly strong focus on the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors. The recently plunging oil price has resulted in significant policy changes in order to sustain this vital industry, with many of us finding ourselves in unknown territory.
