Automation with robots is a growing trend within industry. In order to meet the needs of the new era KUKA has developed the Ready2_Use concept, which consists of preconfigured package solutions that require less knowledge of robot programming and integration.

An important part of KUKA’s strategy for the future is to see beyond the individual robot by satisfying customers’ needs of improving efficiency of the production process. A part of the work is to create different, ready-integrated Ready2_Use solutions that make it easy to install and get started with a robot.

“With Ready2_Use we want to help companies automate their manufacturing processes to save time and money,” says Joacim Lorentsson, Sales Manager at KUKA Nordic.

There will be packages for vastly different automated tasks, for example, for welding, materials handling, and machining.

KUKA is now presenting the first part of the concept – Ready2_Grip which is an equipment package including pneumatic gripper designed for use with KUKA’s robot series KR AGILUS. In total there are 20 different Ready2_Grip packages with hardware and software designed based on user needs.

“Ready2_Grip means many advantages for the customer. It is tested and documented on delivery, which reduces the risk of errors and saves expensive time as it can be used directly in production,” adds Joacim Lorentsson and concludes: “Thanks to our Ready2_Use solutions customers can improve the efficiency of their robot investments and by doing so quickly shift to new profitable technologies.”
