Samson Oil & Gas reports board changes

The Directors of Samson Oil & Gas Limited says that Mr Malcolm Burne has resigned as Chairman and Director of the Company, with immediate effect. Mr Burne advised that his resignation is due to his decision to reduce his business commitments including public company directorships.

Samson’s Managing Director, Mr Terry Barr expressed his gratitude for the contribution made by Mr Burne since his appointment as a director of the Company on 29 April 1998.

Mr Neil MacLachlan, a current Director has been appointed as Chairman of Samson Oil & Gas Limited. His appointment will include a more active role in the management of the Company.

Mr MacLachlan has over 27 years’ investment banking experience in Europe, South East Asia and Australia. He was a former director of Wardley Holdings and James Capel & Co. Limited, investment banking subsidiaries of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. From 1993 until 1997 he was employed by Barrick Gold Corporation as Executive Vice President, Asia and more recently, Mr MacLachlan was a Director of Ambrian Partners Limited, an unlisted UK based investment bank specialising in the natural resources sector.
