Salamander reports successfully appraises of South Sembakung discovery-2

Salamander Energy declares that first production of crude oil from the Bualuang Bravo platform occurred on 14th December 2012. Salamander has a 100% operated interest in the Bualuang field.

The maiden well drilled from the Bualuang Bravo platform, the BB-04H horizontal well, was drilled and completed with the Atwood Mako jack up rig. The well is currently cleaning up and will produce at its planned rate of 1,500 barrels of oil per day (bopd). The rig is now drilling the second development well from the Bravo platform, BB-10H.

The Bualuang field is forecast to average circa. 7,200 bopd in 2012 and is currently producing at over 8,300 bopd. As the development programme progresses with the drilling of an additional 15 development wells, the production rate from Bualuang in 2013 is forecast to be within the range 11,000 – 14,000 bopd, representing a minimum of a 50% increase in production.
