Saipem has been awarded a new onshore contract in Algeria worth approximately US$ 1.8 billion.
Saipem has signed the lump sum turn key contract with the joint venture between Eni and the Algerian oil company Sonatrach for the treatment facilities of natural gas extracted from the Menzel Ledjmet East field and from the future developments of the CAFC (Central Area Field Complex).
The contract encompasses the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) of the natural gas gathering systems and processing plant and the related export pipelines. The facilities will provide a processing capacity of 350 million cubic feet of gas per day and of 35,000 barrels per day of liquids and will be located in the Berkine Basin, approximately 1,000 kilometres southeast of Algiers.
The contract is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.
