Rocksource provides 2008 year-end production target

Rocksource ASA says that the partnership in PL 559 on the Norwegian Continental Shelf has decided to drill an exploration well in Q4 2011.

Rocksource independently estimates that the first well will add approximately 50 million barrels of oil equivalents (mmboe) net risked resources to the company's 2011 drilling program. This program currently consists of five sanctioned wells that will expose Rocksource to in excess of 200 mmboe net risked resources.

PL 559 was Rocksource's highest priority application in the APA 2009 license round and is located on the Nordland Ridge, immediately to the east of the "Norne", "Urd", "Falk" and "Linerle" Fields. Prospectivity within the license consists of three main prospects and several leads. All three prospects have encouraging EM responses.

The PL 559 partnership consists of Rocksource ASA (Operator, 60 per cent), VNG Norge AS (30 per cent) and Skagen 44 AS (10 per cent). The PL 559 well will be drilled by the semi submersible 'Borgland Dolphin', utilizing a Rocksource drilling slot.
