RBG has secured a three-year contract with Shell Exploration and Production Company to supply a coatings and maintenance program for offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.

RBG has initially been commissioned to work on three of the six major offshore facilities that Shell operates in the Gulf of Mexico. In order to qualify for the contract, RBG was subjected to a thorough assessment of its business practices and safety programs.

Marlin Lester, operations manager for RBG’s fabric maintenance division in Louisiana said: “Shell operates a unique safety culture supported by their “Goal Zero” program, which fits very well with the focus of RBG. Our field personnel as well as our managers are attending a week-long training class to ensure that they fully embrace these comprehensive programs.”

Mike Kochalski, RBG international director added: “Shell is a very important customer for RBG globally, and we are delighted at the opportunity to also work for the company in the Gulf of Mexico region. With our international and local expertise, we look forward to a long-lasting relationship with Shell in the USA.”

RBG will start work on one of the platforms in the Gulf of Mexico during November with two more following in January of the New Year.
