RBG will deliver its innovative electrical rope access services as part of a new three-year contract with Chevron North Sea.
Working on the Alba, Captain and Erskine platforms located in the UKCS, RBG will carry out vital electrical inspection and upgrades across the platforms. As the only electrical contractor with an in-house rope access capability, the company can deliver electrical technicians to all those places that require scaffold, but using rope access techniques instead. The contract, worth a total of £1.2million, will also use level three trained rope access technicians for all safety supervision.
RBG has established an impressive track record for its growing electrical business, carrying out similar projects for a number of major North Sea and onshore operators. The company is also looking to internationalise the service, with Kazakhstan identified as a key growth area.
Jason Smith, general manager at RBG, said, "We are very pleased to be working with Chevron and I am confident the contract will be a success. Our skilled electrical rope access service sets us apart from our competitors and this award will position us well for the expected growth in this side of the business. While the UKCS continues to be a key region for us, the experience gained here will help us expand our offering further afield."
