Rapp Bomek AS and Statoil have entered a frame agreement for the delivery of fire doors to Johan Castberg.
Once again Statoil has chosen Rapp Bomek AS as a supplier and has entered into a framework agreement estimated at NOK 27.2 million. The fire doors will be manufactured at Rapp Bomeks factory in Bodø. Historically, the global oil and gas market has been Rapp Bomek’s core market, and with this contract, the company consolidates its position in this market.
The Statoil field Johan Castberg is located 240 kilometres north of Hammerfest in the Barents Sea. Fire doors will be delivered to a floating production vessel (FPSO) to operate on the field. Final investment decision is expected at the end of the year and there is great optimism around the project.
Statoil have ordered products with heat tracer that are implemented in our fire doors and operating systems. These fire doors are specially designed for arctic environments and Rapp Bomek has over 20 years of experience in producing this type of doors. The first delivery of fire doors with heat traces was in 1995 to the oil field Hibernia outside St. John in Newfoundland, Canada.
