The Techflow Marine QuayReel® flexible tanker terminal loading and unloading system has been awarded Gold at the Edison Awards 2016 in New York. Available through leading mooring and offloading systems supplier, Offspring International (OIL), the Techflow Marine QuayReel® flexible hose system offers simultaneous product transfer, reducing loading times by up to 60%.

The QuayReel® loading and unloading system’s innovative design was recognised by the Edison Awards for its contribution to the transportation and logistics of materials handling. Inspired by the renowned inventor Thomas Edison, the Edison Awards aim to recognise, honour and foster innovation and innovators to create a positive impact in the world.

Conventional quay-based loading systems utilising loading arms cannot cross each other making the system susceptible to high loading times. In addition, this restrictive arrangement limits the number of products that can be loaded at any one time and requires tankers to move along the quay in order to load other products. Using QuayReel®’s flexible transfer system allows simultaneous loading and offloading of multiple products, reducing operation times and enhancing terminal capacity.
