Plant Integrity Management Limited (PIM) has been accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). PIM, who specialise in the provision of integrity management services to oil and gas operators, has successfully attained accreditation through UKAS, for their in-service inspection activities in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020:2012 for the Inspections of Hazardous and Non Hazardous Pressure Equipment associated with onshore and offshore installations. The company is now UKAS accredited inspection body No. 8670.
Chris McCrindle, PIM operations director comments, “Since PIM was founded in 2011 we have taken pride in ensuring that we consistently provide a high quality service to our clients. This element of PIM’s ethos is central to the level of service we deliver and the products we develop. Our track record is such that existing clients know that quality is delivered by PIM as standard.
“Achieving UKAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 is a significant milestone for PIM. It not only further validates our approach to integrity management but also provides potential new customers with the reassurance that PIM complies with best practice and is a competent organisation, able to reliably deliver quality to our customers.”
ISO/IEC 17020:2012, which is set by UKAS, specifies requirements for the competence of bodies performing inspection and for the impartiality and consistency of their inspection activities. It applies to any stage of inspection. The level of detail covered by the accreditation process ensures that any company gaining UKAS accreditation is technically competent and has met the stringent standards expected by the ISO/IEC 17020 Standard and shown that these are incorporated in the delivery of its in-service inspection provision. It also underlines the integrity of organisations which provide evaluation services.
Paul Stennett, UKAS chief executive says, “UKAS accreditation is recognised and accepted around the world. It adds value as it confirms the level of technical competence that accredited organisations will deliver. PIM has demonstrated its compliance with ISO/IEC 17020:2012 and we are confident in the company’s ability to deliver in-service inspection activities in line with the requirements detailed in the standard.”
McCrindle concludes, “We are delighted to have been accredited by UKAS. It underpins the hard work carried out across the board at PIM and underlines the focus the company has on quality. It demonstrates our commitment to being recognised as a competent, credible alternative in the field of integrity management services in the UK North Sea as well as in the Middle East and Malaysia.”
