Petsec Energy has recently increased its daily net production rates, from its Gulf of Mexico and Louisiana Gulf Coast producing fields, by more than 75%.
Current daily production is now approximately 10 million cubic feet of gas (MMcf) and 90 barrels of oil net, over 75% higher than the average net daily production rates of 5.7 MMcf of gas and 30 barrels of oil achieved for the first nine months of the year.
The significant increase in production follows the successful workover of the Main Pass 270 A-3 well and the expansion of facilities and pipeline capacity for the Marathon field.
The fourth Marathon field well was spud on 22 October 2012, and is expected to take 120 days to drill, log and complete. Production from this well is anticipated in the first quarter of 2013, making an additional contribution to the field’s production.
